Lesson Observation 2

Select
The sorting activity was good, but it was high-level activity.
Describe
The lesson observation was in the classroom with MST and MCT, children also were there, I would talk about the sorting activity which was my guided center activity. I asked the children to sort the food from where its coming for example animals or plants.
Analyze
Some of the children understood the activity but some of them they needed some help so I was comparing between animals and showing them the different after that they were able to sort.
Appraise
I think this activity help the children to think and sort the food, of the beginning I thought they cant to do it but they understood it . Some times I think we should give them some high level to know how their level of understanding.

Transform
I will improve this activity to let children search pictures from the magazines instate of giving them pictures, I think its will help them in daily life when they go to shopping so they can sort the food.

I feel the introduction of the lesson was very good.
Describe
The lesson observation was in the classroom with MST and MCT, children also were there, I would talk about my introduction for the lesson. When I wear one pair of socks on my hand. And the children had the pictures of the food which caterpillar ate in the story. They started to feed the hungry caterpillar while they are listening to the story from the video that’s shows on smart board. Also they recognize whose turn now to feed the caterpillar.
Analyze
I think children were participating and also they enjoyed the lesson because they liked the game which played with them about the hungry caterpillar, also I think the children love to listen stories they were very excited about the story.
Appraise
After reading the story and I saw how children excited I felt very happy and I was more excited about the activity I want to see the children reaction about the activities and they like it. It was about making caterpillar. Also I feel proud on my self because after the lesson the children remember the names of the foods and they were saying again and again the very hungry caterpillar so they memorized the lesson.
Transform
I will improve my language because I feel I need more practice to pronouns some English words.

Transitions

From first week I had noticed that there is no transition are using.
Describe
-       Who was involved? Teacher and children.
-       What were the circumstances, concerns, or issues? Not using transition.
-       When did the event occur? During the lesson.
-       Where did the event occur? In the classroom.
Analyze
I think teacher was busy with children and preparing the activity so she did not use any strategy to move from carpet to centers that could help children to learn classroom rules or their centers which they are going to.
Appraise
using strategy from the beginning of the year will help children to learn classroom rules also it will help them to know what is the next step of the lesson. I think using transition strategy will help teacher also it make classroom tidy also she can manage the class.
Transform
After two day of my observation for the class I tried to talk with MST to use some transition strategy firstly she said they will not learn it and its difficult. I asked her to let me try I had play a song for clean up the children get it quickly and they hurry to clean their centers and come back to the carpet. The second strategy which I used moving from carpet to center by calling their names moved group by group and its make big improve. I’m happy to make the rules in the classroom.

Reflection







Writing a Reflection                                                             Name: Eiman Rahmat

My event is reading a story
I selected it because I want to improve my reading a story for children.
Describe
When my MCT came to observe me in KG1 class. I read a story while I’m reading the children get bored and they did not participate when I asked them questions.
Analyze
I think the children were bored because I did not change my voice when I was reading that’s why they get bored; also my blooms questions were not in order from easy to hard.
Appraise
At first children were excited to listen a story but after that they feel the questions are hard and they did not understand, also I did not change my voice so they get bored and did not participate with me.


Transform
I think I need more practice how to read a story for children and I should change my voice like characters in story so children can imagine the story and be excited to hear what’s come next.
